Welcome to the Minnesota Council on Disability’s public policy and legislative advocacy hub for the 2026 legislative session. Use this page to find this session’s priorities, track disability-related bills, follow updates, read MCD’s policy letters, and take action when it matters.

MCD Chair Addyson Moore-Carpenter said, “Here at the Minnesota Council on Disability, the independence, safety, and freedom of Minnesotans with disabilities are at the forefront of the work that we do.” This includes our public policy and legislative advocacy work.

Legislative Agenda

Each year, MCD develops a legislative agenda grounded in what we hear from people with disabilities, families, advocates, allies, and community partners across Minnesota. The Governing Council approves the agenda by vote. The agenda identifies shared priorities and guides our work with legislators, state agencies, and other decision-makers during the session.

Bill Tracker

MCD’s bill tracker shows where disability-related bills are in the legislative process, from introduction to committee hearings and beyond. The tracker uses plain-language descriptions and clear status updates to make legislation easier to find and follow.

Legislative Updates

During the legislative session, MCD posts legislative updates to explain key developments, what they mean, and what comes next. These updates summarize what changed, which bills are moving, and where things stand in the process.

Public Policy Letters

MCD submits public policy letters to share our positions, recommendations, and concerns with lawmakers and state leaders. These letters document our policy priorities and provide context on how proposals may affect Minnesotans with disabilities.
