Transportation and Parking
The fair provides several transportation and parking options. Important: On-site accessible parking access is limited. MCD continues to work with the State Fair to address the issue, but you should consider all available options. These include:
- On-site disability parking in designated lots (first-come basis)
- A dedicated, wheelchair-accessible Park & Ride lot at Oscar Johnson Arena
- Metro Mobility, regular transit routes, and Express Bus service
- Ride share and taxi services
Mobility Equipment
HomeTown Mobility offers daily rentals of electric scooters ($75), wheelchairs ($30), strollers, and wagons. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
Personal mobility devices are also permitted, and charging stations are available at the Family & Baby Care building and the Grandstand.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome at the Minnesota State Fair. A service animal is individually trained to do work or perform a task for a person with a disability. Note: Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted on the fairgrounds.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for yourself and your animal, please keep the following in mind:
- Rides and Attractions: A companion must remain with your service animal if you choose to go on a ride. Attraction operators cannot be responsible for the animal.
- Animal Comfort: Be mindful of your service animal’s needs in the heat and crowds. Water fountains and water bottle refill stations are located throughout the fairgrounds.
- Relief Areas: You can find many grassy areas for animal relief along the perimeter of the fairgrounds.
Vision and Hearing
The fair offers several services for guests who are blind, have low vision, or are Deaf or hard of hearing:
- Aira Visual Assistance: Free access to the Aira app, which connects users with professional visual interpreters.
- Audio Description: Available for select shows and by request (14 days in advance).
- Large-Print & Braille: Large-print schedules and maps are at all information booths. Braille books are available at the Alphabet Forest.
- Captioning Services: Captioning is offered for some free shows and competitions.
- ASL Interpreting: Available daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. upon request. Requests for Grandstand shows must be made at least 14 days in advance.
Note: The Minnesota Council on Disability will have ASL interpreters at its own booth. Please visit our main 2025 State Fair event page for specific times.
