NARRATOR: We’ve been here before. We must stick together. When disability rights are threatened, what gives you hope?
JAMES: To be honest with you, my hope comes from Jesus Christ. No matter what happens in the world, I know that that’s going to work out. Everything else is going to just happen. I can’t let it get me down.
JILLIAN: I think when our disability rights are threatened, the thing that I find the most hope with is when I’m able to connect with my community and be surrounded by other people with disabilities and share our lived experience and our beautiful culture that we’ve created as a dynamic community, and really just find hope and joy in how we care for each other and support one another, even in times when the world around us isn’t the most kind.
BIANCA: I would say community. The people in our community, the people who truly care, who take care of people and advocate and empower. That’s what gives me hope.
