Give Your Input – Autonomous Vehicles in MN

September 6, 2018

MCD Executive Director Joan Willshire with autonomous vehicleConnected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) have the potential to greatly impact the lives of people with disabilities. CAVs could foster more independence and more choice for people to live, work, and play in their communities. To ensure that state policy addresses the opportunities and challenges created by CAVs, the Governor established the Governor’s Advisory Council for Connected and Automated Vehicles.

The Advisory Council wants your feedback.

Through facilitated sessions involving state liaisons, key experts and the public, participants are encouraged share their expertise, ideas, and feedback on how CAV technology will impact the lives of Minnesotans. Participants will provide the Advisory Council recommended changes to statutes, rules, and policies. Meetings are free and open to the public. Some meetings will have remote capabilities. If you require an accommodation, please contact ADArequest.dot@state.mn.us. Contact Kristin White at kristin.white@state.mn.us with questions.

More information can be found at MnDOT’s Connected and Autonomous Vehicles page.

Accessibility and Equity Subcommittee meetings

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is working with the Minnesota Council on Disability, members of the public, and community members to host meetings tailored to address each community’s specific needs and goals. The goal of these conversations is to reach out to communities experiencing transportation barriers to ensure equal access to transportation and to bring shared mobility to all.

MnDOT liaisons are looking for communities interested in discussing how connected and automated vehicles may impact your transportation needs. If you would like to request MnDOT attend a conversation with your community, please contact Kristin White at kristin.white@state.mn.us.
